…and the weirder side of Saturday morning

What does this video and song make you think of?

That was Portishead’s “Machine Gun.” Calls me back to listen to or watch it again and again.

The following are clips from an old movie titled “The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari” (according to the video description) set to Marilyn Manson’s “I Put a Spell on You”:

As if that song wasn’t eerie enough.

Whenever in the mood to make myself pervishly uncomfortable, this song fits the bill:

That was Cherry Poppin’ Daddies’ “Here Comes the Snake.” Been creeping out with that since the ’90s.

Speaking of the ’90s, David Lynch’s movie “Lost Highway” had a huge impact on my youthful imagination:

That was David Bowie’s “I’m Deranged” featured on the “Lost Highway” soundtrack.

Here’s Depeche Mode’s “Hole to Feed”:

Again, disturbing enough song before this video was created. Isn’t it interesting how the use of tongues in this way can seem so nasty, even in light of how porn-saturated our society has become? That video puts a different spin on the intimate turned pornographic among strangers.

“Ain’t No Rest For The Wicked”:

Ain’t that the truth.
