More August tunes

Have a friend over helping me out with music selections tonight.

Buddy Holly’s “That’ll Be the Day”:

He wanted to listen to some Buddy Holly.

That was Gerry Rafferty with “Baker Street.” Well-aware it was posted on this blog not terribly long ago. No worries. It’s a worthwhile song deserving of repeated attention, both for its sound and for its lyrics.

Gerry Rafferty’s “Right Down the Line”:

For a change of pace something I’ve been occasionally returning to in recent months, “The Swingle Singers Music Video Piazzolla ‘Libertango'”:

“Just Dropped In” by Kenny Rogers & The First Edition:

Love that song.

And when you did post Baker Street I think I mentioned that Gerry Rafferty’s first (and really only decent) album, City to City is one of my all-time favorite albums. Up there with Graceland, the Bat Out of Hell albums (love them both), and maybe a handful of others where I love, love, love every single tune on the album. Even after all these years and listens.
