Brief journaling on a Tuesday in May

Humans are a trip. We really are. Not sure what to make of us most days…

My gym trainer is a cool dude. Just got in from working out and am about to hop in the shower and then head out to a couple more business appointments.

The topic of the week over here is “niceness.” Everybody expects it, and yet it’s hazy terrain dependent entirely on one’s perception. A topic for another time though.

I dunno… sometimes nice is overrated. Certainly as far as doing stuff. I’ve always said I’d rather deal with a highly competent asshole than an incompetent sweetie. But then I’ve always revered ability over personality.

😉 Niceness does tend to be overrated, very much so. Competency would be preferable. And some of us become assholes for a reason. lol

Niceness is easily faked. Anything that easy to fake deserves to be treated as suspect until further notice.

Good point about the faking. Up here we have what’s called “Minnesota Nice” which is a nice, polite face masking some fairly passive-aggressive behaviors. Having worked in “the arts” I have a lot less respect for faked politeness and much higher regard for honest assholery.

Although, one has to be worthy of being an asshole. Competence is directly correlated to that.
