Because various topics entered into online are getting kind of heavy lately. Needing to back up a bit and regroup.
I’ll start with sharing a few tunes I recently uploaded.
“Blood, Milk and Sky [Miss September Mix]” by White Zombie:
Adore that song. So sultry.
“Minute of Decay” by Marilyn Manson:
I’d love to just give in
I’d love to live this lie…
That’s included among my favorites from him, along with another I return to periodically titled “Man That You Fear”:
You’ve poisoned all your children to camouflage your scars
Pray unto the splinters, pray unto your fear
Pray your life was just a dream, the cut that never heals
I was born into this
Everything turns to shit
When all of your wishes are granted
Many of your dreams will be destroyed
Poetic. Always gets a rise out of me. Can’t explain it.
A great song that I enjoy listening to is “Mountain Song” by Jane’s Addiction:
Comin’ down the mountain
One of many children
Their own opinion
Their own opinion
Holding it back
It hurts so bad
Jumping out of my flesh
And i said…. cash in!
She was holding it back
It hurts do bad
She was jumping out of her flesh
And i said you better cash in!
Uploaded my own copy of the next song too, but it’s not viewable in the U.S. for some reason, so we’ll go with someone else’s video.
“Battleflag” (always assumed the band’s name is Lo Fidelity Allstars, but then info online claims it’s by a group called Pigeonhed — no clue *shrugs*):
Was presented with that song for the first time by friends living in the dorm during my freshman year in college (1999), accompanied with some hilarious dancing pimp graphic on the screen. Totally stuck with me. LOVE it!
Smells of corruption
I manipulate to recreate
This air to ground saga
Gotta launder my karma
Tell me what is making you bleed
We got two more minutes and
We gonna cut to what you need
So one of six so tell me
One do you want to live?
And one of seven tell me
Is it time for your mothafuckin’ ass to give?
Tell me is it time to get down on your mothafuckin’ knees
Tell me is it time to get down
Seriously frickin’ love that song. Never tire of it.
Here’s another cool one (must preface this by saying I’ve never yet sat through a full episode of The Sopranos, so that’s not what turned me on to this song), “Woke Up This Morning” (The Sopranos theme song) by Alabama 3:
Had to look far and wide tonight to find the non-“Chosen One” version. Damn. Gave me the run-around. Might need to upload my copy one of these days.
Here’s an old goodie, Harry Nilsson’s “Everbody’s Talkin'”:
Can’t help but like that song. Acknowledging that past the 2-minute mark it does get kind creepy-sounding in the stalker sense. Irritates the hell out of my companion. lol Whatever. Creepy me then. So be it.
I won’t let you leeeaaavveee…
Ha! The song (from the soundtrack of the movie “Midnight Cowboy”) comes across to me a number of different ways. Can’t help but dig it.
But then again, I’m also strongly attracted to the song “Strawberry Letter 23” by the Brothers Johnson (ha! It can’t be helped either):
I don’t even care for that tight of pants on men. lol But still. ha
And I can even go one greater, “Lovely Day” by Bill Withers:
The ending annoys me a little sometimes. But still. Can’t help but appreciate it.
Capable of going dork supernova up in here even. “Weird Al” Yankovic’s “Alimony”:
Haven’t tired of that song since first listening to it at age 8.
Lawyer’s callin’ me on the telephony
Tryin’ to squeeze some blood from a stonee-stony
Well I’m out of cash (alimony), no dough (alimony)
I’m broke (alimony), it’s no joke (alimony)
The check’s in the mail (alimony), get off (alimony)
My back (alimony), cut me some slack (alimony)
(Ooh, I want my alimo-mo-mony) Oh you do
(Ooh, I want my alimo-mo-mony) Is it due
(Ooh, I want my alimo-mo-mony) Or you’ll sue
(Ooh, I want my alimo-mo-mony)
(cash register “ching”)
Probably repeated songs that have been posted on here in the past, but ah well. Who cares? They come to mind, and I go with it.
That’s enough for one post.
